This nonfiction highlights America’s highest incarceration rate in the world, and provides many examples of how the justice system is flawed. The stories are upsetting and inspiring because it pushes you to try to eliminate and confront injustice. Bryan Stevenson tells of the nonprofit organization he created to help the condemned and incarcerated, Equal Justice Initiative. This was our Freshman Read, I really enjoyed the way he weaves his own life story together with other's stories of injustice. On my HECUA program we were able to stop by the EJI office in Alabama, along eith going to both his museums.
